1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and CipherForces Inc., a California corporation located at 6259 Foothill Blvd, Tujunga, CA 91042 ("CipherForces", "we", "us", "our"). By using cipherforces.com or buying a product or service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the applicable product-specific policies (Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, DMCA & Copyright Policy, Cookie Policy).
If you don't agree, don't use the site. If you're agreeing on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to do so.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to buy anything from us. The site is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EU/UK).
3. What we offer
- CipherTools — free browser-based utilities with a daily cap, plus paid Personal ($39) and Studio ($199) licenses that remove the cap. Most run entirely in your browser.
- Print services — physical products (business cards, foil cards, flyers) fulfilled via our production partner.
- Starter packages and design services — branding, web development, and related professional services scoped per order.
- Wedding website builder — $250 template sites and $750 custom sites.
- Logo services — automated and professional logo design.
Features, prices, and availability can change. If we change anything that affects an order you've already placed, we'll honor the terms that applied when you placed it.
4. CipherTools
4.1 Free tier and Pro license
Most tools have a daily free-usage quota. The Pro license is a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited use of the included tools; the price and the full list of what's included are shown on the pricing page. The license is issued as an HMAC-signed cookie (cf_license) to the browser where you activate it and gives access to the web-based tools at cipherforces.com. We do not guarantee or commit to any desktop or offline application as part of the license.
4.2 Privacy of your files
Except for the documented exceptions listed in the Privacy Policy, our tools process files entirely in your browser. We cannot recover or access those files. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.
4.3 Tool outputs are not professional advice
CipherTools produce documents and artifacts for your own use. In particular:
- The Contract Generator produces templates based on generic clauses. CipherForces is not a law firm. Output is not legal advice. Consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction before signing.
- The Resume Builder, Paystub Generator, Invoice Generator, and similar tools produce documents you are responsible for. Do not use them to misrepresent facts. We do not warrant ATS compatibility with any specific employer system.
- The Breach Checker, SSL Checker, Privacy Checker, and other security tools are informational only and do not constitute a security audit.
4.4 Optional AI features (Bring-Your-Own-Key)
Some tools can call OpenAI or Anthropic using an API key you provide. Your key is stored encrypted in your browser and never transmitted to CipherForces. AI outputs may be inaccurate or fabricated ("hallucinations") and must be reviewed by you before use. You are solely responsible for the truthfulness and legality of content you submit or publish using AI-assisted features. Charges from OpenAI / Anthropic are billed to you directly by those providers.
5. Print orders
5.1 Proof approval required before production
For orders that include design work by us, we send a digital proof of the final artwork before sending anything to production. No production starts until you reply with written approval (for example, "This version is approved for print.") If you need changes, reply to the proof email and we'll revise. Once you approve a proof, the project is considered final; changes requested after approval may incur additional charges at our discretion, billed per project or hourly.
Proofs may include guide lines (trim, safe zone, bleed) and/or watermarks. These guides and watermarks do not appear on the printed product.
Content accuracy is your responsibility. Once you approve a proof, CipherForces is not liable for any spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, incorrect contact information, or content inaccuracies present in the approved artwork. Review every character carefully before approving.
5.2 Color, materials, and printing variance
Printed color may not match your screen exactly due to differences in displays, inks, substrates, and press conditions. CipherForces does not guarantee exact color matching between a digital proof and the printed output. Physical paper or finish samples are available on request before you place the order.
5.3 Defects and the 5-business-day window
If your order has a manufacturing defect, email sales@cipherforces.com with photos within 5 business days of receiving the product. After 5 business days the project is considered complete and closed. Verified defects are remedied per the Refund Policy.
5.4 Client-supplied content and indemnity
By submitting any artwork, text, logos, images, fonts, or other materials to be printed, you represent and warrant that all of it is either owned by you or licensed for the use contemplated. You agree to indemnify and hold CipherForces harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of unlicensed, infringing, or otherwise unauthorized content. We may refuse or cancel orders we reasonably believe infringe third-party rights. See Acceptable Use and DMCA Policy.
5.5 Ownership of design and production files
All design, layout, source, and production files created by CipherForces in the course of fulfilling a print order — including working files, layered PSD / AI / InDesign files, export settings, and imposition files — remain the exclusive property of CipherForces. The deliverable of a print order is the physical printed product. Editable or source files are not provided.
5.6 Portfolio and showcase rights
CipherForces reserves the right to display completed work in its portfolio, case studies, social media, and other marketing channels, unless a separate written confidentiality or non-disclosure agreement is in place. If you need your project kept confidential, let us know in writing before approving the proof.
5.7 Shipping
See the Shipping Policy. We ship to US addresses only unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6. Design, development, and starter packages
Professional services (branding, web development, automation, logo design, starter packages) are scoped and priced per engagement. When you purchase a package or request a proposal, you agree to provide timely feedback, assets, and approvals so we can do the work.
- A basic Statement of Work is implied by the product page you purchase from. We may email you a written SoW before starting large projects.
- Deliverables remain CipherForces' property until full payment is received. On payment, we assign the final deliverables to you (subject to Section 8).
- We use best-effort turnaround times; firm deadlines require a written SoW.
- If you cancel mid-engagement, you pay for work completed to date; see Refund Policy.
7. Wedding websites
- Template and custom wedding sites are delivered per the turnaround window listed on the product page or in the proposal.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of all content on your wedding site, including RSVPs you collect from guests.
- Guest RSVP data is stored in our database. You can request a CSV export at any time and request deletion after your event.
- Post-event hosting is not included free. Your wedding site is typically taken down approximately one month after your event; we retain the order record and a full-page screenshot of the site as a reference copy of what was delivered. Ongoing hosting past that window is available at our standard rate if arranged in advance.
8. Payment, taxes, and refunds
- Payment. We use a PCI-compliant payment processor for most orders and a separate Merchant-of-Record reseller for the Pro license. You authorize the charge shown at checkout.
- Taxes. Applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST is calculated and collected at checkout by the payment processor (or by the Merchant of Record, in the case of the Pro license).
- Currency. Prices are in US dollars unless otherwise stated.
- Refunds. See the Refund Policy for full, per-product rules.
- Chargebacks. If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first. Filing a chargeback without contacting us may result in suspension of access and refusal of future service.
9. Intellectual property
- Our IP. The CipherForces site, tools (including their output format and UI), branding, and content are owned by CipherForces or our licensors. You may use the site only as permitted by these Terms. No rights are transferred by implication.
- Your content. Content you submit (files you print, wedding-site content, RSVPs, contact messages) remains yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, display, and transmit your content to the extent necessary to deliver the services you requested.
- Deliverables. On full payment, the final, accepted deliverables of a professional-services engagement (e.g., a completed logo, a delivered website) are assigned to you, excluding (a) our pre-existing tools, libraries, and frameworks, (b) open-source components and their respective licenses, and (c) generic design conventions.
- Feedback. If you give us ideas to improve the service, you grant us a perpetual license to use them without compensation.
10. Acceptable use
You agree to use CipherForces only for lawful purposes and in accordance with the Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
11. Third-party services
The site integrates with third-party providers across several categories — including a payment processor, a Merchant-of-Record reseller for the Pro license, hosting and CDN infrastructure, a rate-limiting layer, a transactional-email service, a live-chat widget, a public breach-lookup database (used only when you run the Breach Checker tool), and, where you opt in, the AI provider you choose with your own API key. Each provider’s own terms and privacy policy govern its portion of the service. We are not responsible for third-party outages, errors, or policy changes beyond our control. The specific vendors we use are available on request to privacy@cipherforces.com.
12. Disclaimers
THE SITE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. CIPHERFORCES DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY PARTICULAR RESULT WILL BE OBTAINED. NOTHING IN THIS SECTION LIMITS ANY WARRANTY THAT CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CIPHERFORCES AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE OR SERVICES, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION AND EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE OR SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO CIPHERFORCES IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions, the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CipherForces from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from (a) your use of the site or services, (b) your violation of these Terms or any law, (c) content you provide (including artwork you upload for printing or post on a wedding site), or (d) your infringement of third-party rights.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the site, the Pro license, or a professional engagement if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us, or fail to pay. On termination, Sections 9 through 16 survive.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Small claims first. For any dispute that qualifies, either party may bring a claim in small-claims court in Los Angeles County, California. This is the fastest and lowest-cost path for most disagreements.
Courts for everything else. For disputes that don't qualify for small claims, the exclusive venue is the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California. You consent to personal jurisdiction there. Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court to protect intellectual property or confidentiality regardless of amount.
Good-faith contact first. Before filing any claim, please contact us at legal@cipherforces.com so we can try to resolve it directly. We resolve nearly every issue over email.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by a banner on the site for 30 days and, for customers with active orders or a Pro license, by email. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
18. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms plus the linked policies are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site and services.
- Severability. If any provision is invalid, the rest remain in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all assets.
- Notices. We may deliver notices to you by email. You must notify us at legal@cipherforces.com.
- Export & sanctions. You represent you are not on any US sanctions list and will not use the site in violation of US export controls.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delays or failures due to events beyond reasonable control (natural disasters, war, pandemic, labor disputes, carrier failures, internet outages).
