How to report infringement and how we respond.

Last updated:

Summary

CipherForces respects intellectual property rights. We respond to valid notices of copyright or trademark infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA, 17 U.S.C. §512) and comparable laws. This page explains how to send a takedown notice, how we act on it, and how to file a counter-notice.

Designated DMCA Agent

To submit a formal DMCA notice, contact our designated agent:

CipherForces DMCA Agent
Email: dmca@cipherforces.com (fastest)
Postal: CipherForces, DMCA Agent, Glendale, CA, USA
(Full postal address provided on written request at legal@cipherforces.com.)

Note: only copyright / trademark infringement notices should be sent to this channel. Other inquiries sent here may be ignored. For account or order questions, use sales@cipherforces.com.

How to submit a takedown notice

Your notice must include all of the following (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)):

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the owner (or authorized agent) of the allegedly infringed right.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work or trademark claimed to be infringed.
  3. Identification of the specific material on CipherForces that is claimed to be infringing, including the URL or sufficient detail for us to locate it.
  4. Your contact information: full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

Incomplete notices will typically be rejected. Notices that are materially false may create liability for damages under §512(f).

How we respond

  • For content hosted by us (e.g., a wedding site we provision, a print order accepted into production), we will promptly remove or disable access to the challenged material after receiving a valid notice.
  • We will notify the user who uploaded the material where feasible, forwarding the notice.
  • For print orders, if we are notified before shipment, we will cancel the order and issue a refund.
  • Repeat infringers will have their access suspended and the Pro license, if any, deactivated.

Counter-notice

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice containing all of the following (17 U.S.C. §512(g)):

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the removed material and its prior location.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed in error or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court where you reside (or, if outside the US, the Central District of California), and that you will accept service of process from the party that sent the original notice.

Send counter-notices to the same dmca@cipherforces.com channel. We will forward counter-notices to the original complainant. If the complainant does not file suit within 10–14 business days, we may restore the material.

Trademark claims

Trademark infringement notices (including claims of counterfeit goods, misleading brand usage, or passing-off) may be sent to the same address. Please include:

  • The trademark, registration number (if registered), and the jurisdiction(s) where it is protected.
  • The specific material or order that allegedly infringes.
  • A statement describing the infringement and the rights you are asserting.
  • Your contact information and a signature.

When you place a print order, you represent and warrant that you own, have licensed, or have the right to reproduce every element of the artwork you upload — including fonts, images, logos, and trademarks. We may refuse or cancel orders we reasonably believe infringe third-party rights, even after checkout. In such cases we'll refund the amount paid.

Limits

Nothing on this page is legal advice. If you're unsure whether a use is infringing, consult an attorney. Filing a materially false DMCA notice or counter-notice can create personal liability for damages and attorneys' fees under §512(f).
